FAQ About Grossbusters Carpet Cleaning

How long will my carpet, rugs, and upholstery take to dry?

Carpet

1.5 - 5 Hours

Rugs

30 Minutes - 2 Hours

Upholstery

30 Minutes - 2 Hours

Several factors influence the amount of time it takes for your carpet, rugs, and upholstery to dry. Temperature outside and inside, humidity, fiber type, pile length, pile density, soil level, and cleaning method all play a role in dry times.

Will my carpet look dirty again soon after it's cleaned?

NO! Our truck-mounted cleaning system effectively flushes and extracts both the soil and cleaning chemicals used. Other cleaners leave sticky chemical residues behind which quickly attract soil and make your carpet look dirty again.

How often should I get my carpet, area rugs, and upholstery steam cleaned?

Residential

Generally, you should hire a professional for cleaning every 6-12 months. However, this is just a general recommendation. Certain household factors such as number of pets, number of people, etc. may require more or less frequent cleanings. We have a detailed carpet cleaning frequency chart from the EPA on the desktop version of this website.

Commercial

Due to the varying degrees of foot traffic and daily wear conditions in commercial establishments, professional cleaning should take place anywhere from monthly to annually. For a detailed carpet analysis of your commercial establishment, call us today for an in-person inspection.

What do I need to do to prepare my carpets for cleaning?

Please clear the area you would like cleaned. Please pick up any toys, books, small furniture, and other items that may be in the way or may get damaged during the cleaning process. We do not move any large furniture for liability reasons. If you need help moving small furniture, we may be able to assist you. If you feel inclined to vacuum, it makes our job easier and faster. However, we are fully prepared to vacuum before each job. We use a Dyson DC14 vacuum cleaner which features dual HEPA filters and cyclone technology for maximum dirt, dust and allergen removal.

Do you offer stain protector for my carpets and upholstery?

YES! We highly recommend 3M Scotchgard fabric protector to all of our clients. By reapplying carpet protector following every professional cleaning, you are proactively extending the life of your carpet. Scotchgard helps prevent spills from becoming permanent stains. It also helps to alleviate the stress that daily the daily wear and tear of household foot traffic has on the fibers.

Are your chemicals safe?

YES! Our chemicals are safe for your kids, pets, and the environment. We even have a full line of Green Seal Certified products. These chemicals are made from completely organic chemcistry and are great for people with chemical sensitivities.

Some people refer to "dry carpet cleaning" as "green carpet cleaning." While dry carpet cleaning is generally non-toxic, steam cleaning can also be considered "green" if the right chemicals are used. We offer both steam cleaning as well a method of dry carpet cleaning, called encapsulation cleaning. We provide both types of cleaning to residents and businesses in the greater Olympia area.

Which is better for my carpet, steam cleaning or dry cleaning?

All major carpet manufacturers, the EPA, and the IICRC (Institute for Inspection, Cleaning, and Restoration Certification) all recommend steam cleaning as the best method of carpet cleaning. Why? It just cleans deeper. Dry carpet cleaning has its place in large commercial establishments or as an in-between "spruce up" between scheduled steam cleanings. But as a standalone method of cleaning, it just doesn't remove enough soil to deliver truly clean carpet.
